Gas Problem Summary

Broadly, the problems due to intestinal gas can be summarized as under:

  • Gas moving upwards and thereby creating problem by hampering the free flow of food from the stomach into the small intestine. This problem results in a feeling of bloating in the stomach and if unrelieved by belching causes moderate to severe inconvenience.
  • Gas generated in the small intestine and entry part of the large intestine and moving downwards. This problem results in undue flatulence with bad odour also termed smelly gas.
  • Gas generated close to the exit area of the large intestine.This is not of much worry as it hardly causes any problems or embarrassment.
